“Journey” also known as “Journey to Regionals” is the 22 episode and first season finale of the American television series Glee as shown on FOX on 8th June. “Over the Rainbow” was written for the movie The Wizard of Oz, and was sung by Judy Garland in that movie.

Will tells the club of its extension, and performs “Over the Rainbow” with Puck in celebration.

Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) covered the song “Tell Me Something Good” in the episode 21 of Glee, titled “Funk”. “Tell Me Something Good” was Rufus and Chaka Khan’s first single, released in 1974. Pink recorded a cover of the song for the film “Happy Feet”.

Attempting to deal with his sorrow and cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester’s (Jane Lynch) incessant bullying, Will seduces Sue with a performance of “Tell Me Something Good” and asks her out on a date, standing her up to humiliate her.

Quinn (Dianna Agron) of New Directions covered the song “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” in the episode 21 of Glee, titled “Funk”. “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” is a song by James Brown and Betty Jean Newsome. In 2004, “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” was ranked number 123 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.This song is also sampled on Alicia Keys’ song “Fallin”.

For her funk assignment, Quinn performs “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” to vent her frustration of being an unwed teenage mother. Mercedes (Amber Riley) empathizes with Quinn and invites her to move in with her.

Puck (Mark Salling), Finn (Cory Monteith) and Mercedes (Amber Riley) of New Directions covered the song “Good Vibrations” in the episode 21 of Glee, titled “Funk”. “Good Vibrations” is a 1991 dance song by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch from the album Music for the People, and was released at the end of 1991. The song became a number-one hit in Sweden, Switzerland, and the U.S.

For their funk assignment, the 3 of them perform “Good Vibrations” in front of the class. Mr Schuester remarked that this is not a funk song. Anyhow, they looked like they were having fun singing that song.

Puck (Mark Salling) and Finn (Cory Monteith) of New Directions covered the song “Loser” in the June 1, 2010 episode of Glee, with the title “Funk”. “Loser” is a song by the American alternative rock singer Beck. Although the song was created in 1993, Beck has claimed to have had the idea for the song since the late 1980s.

Puck and Finn get jobs at Sheets-N-Things, working for Terri. Expressing the dissatisfaction in their lives, Puck and Finn perform “Loser” in a dream sequence at the shop.

This is a worldwide crossover hit song by the English rock band Queen. It hit number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, number two on the R&B charts and the Disco Top 100, and number seven in the UK Singles Chart.

Rival glee club Vocal Adrenaline tries to intimidate New Directions by performing this song “Another One Bites The Dust” in the opening sequence of episode 21 of Glee series.

The cast of Glee covered the song “Give Up The Funk” in the June 1, 2010 episode, “Funk”. It is a funk song by Parliament. It was released as a single under the name “Tear the Roof off the Sucker (Give Up the Funk)”. It became Parliament’s first certified million-selling single, going Gold in 1976.

New Directions are intimidated by their competition, rival glee club Vocal Adrenaline. To avoid violent retaliation, the group performs “Give up the Funk” to show Vocal Adrenaline that they are not defeated by their bullying.

The cast of Glee covered the song “Ice Ice baby” in the May 4, 2010 episode, “Bad Reputation”. Robert Van Winkle, better known by his stage name Vanilla Ice, wrote “Ice Ice Baby” at the age of 16. Vanilla Ice based the song’s lyrics upon the South Florida area in which he lived. “Ice Ice Baby” was the first hip hop single to top the Billboard charts. It has been credited for helping diversify hip hop by introducing it to a mainstream audience.

As glee club assignment, Will Schuester (club director) has the students find songs with bad reputations and rehabilitate them, performing Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby” as an example. Now relive the legacy of “Ice Ice Baby” again!
